We are pleased to announce that the inaugural Alison Gertz Young Leadership Award will be presented to Casey Fremont at the ACRIA dinner in recognition of her generous philanthropic spirit and commitment to the fight against AIDS. This exciting new award has been introduced on the occasion of ACRIA acquiring Love Heals, the Alison Gertz Foundation for AIDS Education.

Other honorees include Judith Light (Elizabeth Taylor Award), and Michael Ward Stout and The Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation (Artists Ending AIDS Award).

WHAT’S YOUR SIGN? A Brooklyn Art Exhibit to Raise Awareness about New York City’s HIV/AIDS Crisis Affecting Black and Latino Youth

New York, NY (Sept. 11, 2015) – Love Heals, the Alison Gertz Foundation for AIDS Education, Inc. announced today the creation of a Brooklyn, New York-based street art project whose formal dedication on Saturday, October 3, 2015 will raise public awareness about the HIV/AIDS crisis among black and Latino youth in New York City. The zodiac-themed art exhibit, formally known as the “What’s Your Sign? Mural Project,” will be displayed on an exhibit wall located at 314 St. John’s Place located in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights neighborhood.

The public exhibition will feature the work of 16 renowned artists who will donate their talent in support of efforts to halt the spread of HIV among New York City’s Black and Latino youth. Following public exhibition, proceeds from the sales of the 12 individual art panels will benefit Love Heals, a not-for-profit organization working to empower youth in the fight against HIV/AIDS through prevention education and leadership development training.

Deborah A. Levine named Executive Director of Love Heals, The Alison Gertz Foundation for AIDS Education

Deborah A. Levine has been named Executive Director of Love Heals, the Alison Gertz Foundation for AIDS Education, effective immediately. In her new role, Ms. Levine will guide the organization's growth and expanded reach while ensuring its continued financial stability. Her primary focus will be the development and execution of a long-term strategy for the organization that will build on its two-decade legacy as the leading provider of HIV/AIDS education to the youth of New York City. She will also oversee the organization's day-to-day operations.

There are lots of ways that you can get involved in Love Heals fundraising events:
